Emma Nogueiro reveals details of her relationship with Sánchez Dragó: "He made me a woman"

Last Monday, April 10, the Spanish writer Fernando Sánchez Dragó died at his home at the age of 86, after suffering a heart attack in a Soria municipality, where he lived with his current partner, Emma Nogueiro. Just a few minutes before the tragedy, the author of The Left Hand Path shared some messages on his official Twitter account, so the news shocked his followers. Now, five days after his departure, his partner has written an emotional letter published in La Razón with which they remember the years they lived with him.

The 29-year-old editor and journalist from Asturias met the writer in 2017, when she went to his house to interview him for the medium where he worked at the time. From that moment on, they became inseparable. In fact, it was she who was with him at the Soria farm, where the writer died. She is broken with pain, now she dedicates some long and emotional words to him through a letter published in La Razón this Saturday, the medium where the writer collaborated.

The journalist was very young when she met him, so she feels that, in part, she has grown up with him. "I met Fernando when I was a twenty-four-year-old girl and I saw him die at thirty, already a woman. He made me a woman, in addition to many other things. That's why, Fer, my love, wherever you are, you have to know that there will be no after", he begins by saying in his extensive letter.

In addition, he has revealed what surprised him the most when he met the writer. "The first thing I discovered about you was that you were, in addition to being a very nice guy, a cooler person than Captain Thunder; a handsome man, and a cult and headline writer, with one of the most privileged pens and minds in the country. , a good man. Very good. Extraordinarily good. Goodness sprouted from you in disorder, like poppies grow in the field, and that's why we all loved you. Well, besides loving you, I loved you. Sorry: I love you. Today and always," he says.

The 29-year-old girl shows in these lines how shocked she is by the death of her partner, and remembers the terrible moment in which he died with her. "Fernando, that you have died in my arms, tell me now how I can make that homesickness something good and live with it in the present. Otherwise, you told me sometimes, you will not live; you will only remember or wait," he continues expressing.

"With Fernando, in addition to many other things, I learned that now that there are no jungles to discover, he pushed me to explore my unconscious. It is the greatest adventure that we have ahead of us at this time. I learned and now I can tell you: do it, go slowly. Little by little. (...) Life does not end or begin. It is a path open at both ends. It is about living as if night did not fall", continues the journalist, who also cites a large number of quotes from famous authors in his letter.

Finally, he assumes that Dragó's departure was something that had to happen sooner or later, since we all leave this life at some point. "It had to be sometime. There is no one who can avoid this. Your death saddens me for only one reason: because I am not going to see you again. At least until I die too. You were, you are, the most honest person and more complete than I have known. Maybe I loved you, I love you, for that reason, "he says.

Before finishing her extensive message, the communicator assures that she will always remember the happy moments with the author and that those moments will help her "in sad moments." "Fernando achieved what no one had ever achieved before: that I ask that my path with him be long, and that there are many summer mornings when, with pleasure, I arrive at the same port to discover it intact as the first time", assured.

"I am sending you a very long, endless kiss. And I will follow you. Remember that, beyond good and evil, there is a garden. I will see you there next time. Until then, I want you to know that I am behind you, that if you stretch out your your hand will be able to reach mine. I wish you a good journey, long and full of adventures. Goodbye, my love. Eternal love. I'll see you on the way. Don't go too far, I'll come looking for you as soon as I can. (... ) We shall overcome, my love. They will not move us, "the young woman ends up writing, totally devastated and sad to face the loss of her partner.
