Although the strike of Hollywood writers and actors is slowing down the number of series premieres, this fall still presents interesting new features, in addition to some highly anticipated returns such as the new seasons of The Golden Age and 30 Coins (HBO Max), Loki (Disney ), Lupine (Netflix), For All Humanity (Apple TV) or Fargo (Movistar Plus).

Eight series that can become the jewels of this fall

Although the strike of Hollywood writers and actors is slowing down the number of series premieres, this fall still presents interesting new features, in addition to some highly anticipated returns such as the new seasons of The Golden Age and 30 Coins (HBO Max), Loki (Disney ), Lupine (Netflix), For All Humanity (Apple TV) or Fargo (Movistar Plus). And among the new features, we highlight the following, some of which can become authentic serial gems.

LET YOURSELF SEE Atresplayer / September 24

Dramatic comedy with the personal stamp of Álvaro Carmona (People Speaking) that addresses topics such as the concept of identity or the relationship with the environment and technology from a new and ingenious point of view. It stars Macarena Sanz, who will play a young woman who begins to become invisible and who must come face to face with a world in which she feels that she does not quite connect, to stop her disappearance.

B LUE LIGHTS Movistar Plus / September

Recent British television hit that has been compared to Line of Duty. It is a police drama that follows the day-to-day life of a Belfast police station from the point of view of three rookies: Grace, a former social worker who can't help but get over-involved in the cases; Tommy, a shy young man with difficulty commanding respect, and Annie, a rebel incapable of sticking to the rules. Their job becomes dangerous when they become involved in the investigation of a local mafia.

THE MESSIAH Movistar Plus / October 11

New series written, directed and produced by Javier Ambrossi and Javier Calvo, the Javis, creators of hits like La Llamada, Paquita Salas or Veneno. The viral video of a Christian pop music group made up of several sisters impacts the life of Enric, a man tormented by a childhood marked by religious fanaticism and the yoke of a mother with messianic delusions. Cast headed by Macarena García, Roger Casamajor, Lola Dueñas and Carmen Machi.

NOTHING Disney / October 11

Argentine production with the participation of Robert de Niro. Manuel (Luis Brandoni) is a sophisticated culinary critic from Buenos Aires who hires Antonia (Majo Cabrera), an inexperienced young woman, to help him with household chores. Manuel will be forced to instruct her about countless aspects of her life. Meanwhile, he receives a visit from his friend Vincent (Robert De Niro), a New York writer with whom he shares tastings, readings and walks.

FRASIER SkyShowtime / October 12

Kelsey Grammer recovers the iconic character of Frasier Crane for a new stage in his life, when he leaves Seattle (where Frasier was set) to return to Boston (where the Cheers pub was) with new challenges, new relationships and some dreams to fulfill. In addition to Grammer, the series stars Jack Cutmore-Scott as her son Freddy and Nicholas Lyndhurst as Alan, a former classmate turned college professor.

NOLLY Film / Noviembre

Miniseries by creator Russell T. Davies (which follows the real life of actress Noele Gordon. Helena Bonham Carter plays this Nolly (as everyone knew her) when in 1981 she was the queen of British soap operas after playing for 17 years the protagonist of Crossroads. The actress did and undid as she pleased, which drove the producers crazy. She was finally fired. The series focuses on her reaction to that dismissal and how she rethinks life at the age of 60.

THE BUCCANEERS: ARISTOCRATS FOR LOVE

Apple TV / November 8

Made by an all-female creative team, this series based on Edith Warton's latest novel stars Kristine Frøseth, Alisha Boe, Josie Totah and Christina Hendricks (Joan in Mad Men). A group of young and carefree Americans burst into the corseted London scene of 1870, causing a cultural shock: the land of rigidity and discipline is “invaded” by a refreshing indifference towards centuries-old traditions.

BERLIN Netflix / December 29

One of the most anticipated sequels is the one starring Pedro Alonso, who once again plays Berlin, the brother of The Professor in Money Heist. Along with him, a new band: Michelle Jenner plays Keila, an eminence in electronic engineering; Tristán Ulloa steps into the shoes of Damián, a philanthropist professor and confidant from Berlin; Begoña Vargas plays Cameron, a kamikaze who always lives on the edge; Julio Peña Fernández plays Roi, Berlin's faithful squire; and Joel Sánchez plays Bruce, the relentless man of action in the gang. Additionally, Itziar Ituño and Najwa Nimri will reprise their roles as Raquel Murillo and Alicia Sierra.
