"Earning only 2,000 euros is not worthy for young people": a 'tiktoker' sparks controversy

"They're going to work for me but I don't care." These are the words that Ana Isabel writes in the description of a video that she knows will cause controversy. The tiktoker, with user @afdezilustre, wanted to open up the melon of what is and what is not a good salary.

Taking into account that the interprofessional minimum wage for 40 hours of work per week is 1,080 euros, the young woman argued why it seemed like little money to pay 2,000 euros per month net.

While users attacked her for openly expressing that it is not a good income in another video, the young woman explains in her account that the fact that "we have normalized shitty salaries as a generation" perpetuates companies to continue scamming young people.

According to her, there are many people who get upset about this statement because it breaks the feeling of upper-middle class that they could have.

"Having a salary of 2,000 euros forces you to have to share a flat, to have a partner to be able to become independent. It forces you to have to control expenses a lot, because anything out of pocket does not allow you to save," explains the tiktoker.

According to the young woman, a good salary is one that "allows you to save to, for example, buy a house, while you can live on rent and make your life without having to take things away."
