Drawing the church of Sallent

* The author is part of the community of readers of La Vanguardia

This series of photographs is the result of the exercise of drawing the Sallent church in La Vanguardia's Readers' Photos.

This religious building was designed by the architect Francesc Folguera in 1945. It was built on the remains of an old Romanesque church and a later neo-Gothic style church.

Indeed, there are references prior to 1023 of an old Romanesque church, suffragan to that of Sant Esteve del Castell. It has been an autonomous parish since the 12th century with the name of Santa Maria.

I have applied a filter to the original photographs that I captured of Santa Maria de Sallent that turns them into beautiful drawings, giving them an artistic and creative touch.

The bell tower, which belongs to the previous neo-Gothic church, has a height of 33 meters. The temple is illuminated with stained glass in the central nave and in the rose window on the façade.
