Don't bite: The Treasury only calls you from these two numbers

The 2023 - 2024 income campaign inaugurates a new stage this May 7 with the first calls to taxpayers to make the declaration by phone, as long as they have a prior appointment. The program will run until July 1, 2024 and will be used to prepare and present the personal income tax settlement.

The novelty may be a new claim for scams by criminals, who impersonate the Tax Agency to steal taxpayers' data.

In this sense, all caution is appreciated. If an appointment has been made, there are only two numbers from which the Tax Agency will officially call: 810 520 052 or 917 276 222 if a foreign contact number has been given. It is recommended to save these numbers in the phonebook to identify calls from the Tax Agency when the time comes.

“Do not answer calls from other telephone numbers, hidden calls or messages in mobile messaging applications such as WhatsApp, Telegram, etc., that are identified as being from the Tax Agency in relation to the income campaign,” the Agency warns. Tax.

In the event that a scam attempt is detected, the treasury is asked to report the case through official channels to prevent the fraud from affecting other people.

There are several channels to request an appointment. On the one hand, you can choose to do it online, identifying yourself with a NIF/NIE or with Cl@ve, reference, electronic DNI or electronic certificate. You can also choose to make an appointment through the official app of the Tax Agency.

Additionally, you can call the automatic telephone number 91 535 73 26 or 901 12 12 24; or to the telephone numbers with personal attention 91 553 00 71 or 901 22 33 44, Monday to Friday, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

If when you try to request an appointment there is no space available, “this will not mean that there are no appointments left, but rather that more appointments will be reopened in the following days,” the Tax Agency states.

You should not trust unofficial channels. Telephone services have been detected that claim to be from the Tax Agency and are in charge of managing appointments. The treasury warns that “these telephone numbers are totally unrelated to the same and that, in addition to entailing high charging costs for the people who use them, the appointments obtained through said numbers could not be valid and therefore not being attended to.”

Appointments can be made until June 28. The last calls will be made on July 1, with the end of this year's campaign. It is recommended that if you are unable to attend the call on the scheduled date, you cancel at least one day in advance so that another person can take the appointment.

The Tax Agency notifies by email when making the appointment and by SMS two days before the scheduled date. At the time of the call, you must have prepared identification documents of the owner and those that appear in the declaration, the IBAN of the account, the certificate issued by the payer in the case of salaried workers, cadastral references of the properties owned, NIF of the owner of the home if it is rented, insurance receipts, proof of donations... The detailed documents are collected at this link.

Not all taxpayers can make an appointment so that the Tax Agency can call them and file the declaration over the phone. For example, for income from work there is a limit of 65,000 euros per year; for income from movable capital it is 15,000 euros per year; or if properties are rented, there cannot be more than two. The details of who can make the declaration can be consulted at this link on the Tax Agency portal.

One of the novelties this year is that the Tax Agency has launched a special care plan for people over 65 years of age in certain small municipalities.
