Discover the Camí de Cavalls route

I was able to enjoy a route organized by Nordic Walking Girona through the Camí de Cavalls in Menorca, an island declared, in 1993, a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO.

As observed in this photographic report in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia, walking by the sea, passing through this unique place, all of it splendid thanks to the last spring rains, allows us to appreciate its history over so many years.

But we also appreciate the beauty that must be preserved as a natural, archaeological and cultural heritage.

Reading The Island of the Five Lighthouses, by Ferran Ramon-Cortés, has accompanied me along with my fellow travelers and the people with whom we have shared the route.

There is the Camí de Cavalls 360º, which is the return to Menorca in stages via the GR 223, an ancestral path of 185 km that runs along the Menorcan coast. It is carried out in a self-guided format and in three possible modalities: Hiking, Trail Running and BTT.

Each modality offers three possible variants: 360º (the entire lap), 180º N (the northern half) or 180º S (the southern half). You can also choose the level that best suits each hiker, depending on the number of stages needed to complete the tour of Menorca, from 13 stages to three.
