Discover the Berga Salt Mill

A walk through the old town of Berga has led me to prepare this photographic report for Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia, where the Molí de la Sal stands out.

The capital of Berguedà still retains its medieval configuration, with parts of the wall, as seen in these snapshots.

There are several well-signposted tourist routes, with detailed explanations of the most prominent buildings. In these images I show views from the castle and through the narrow streets.

The building called Molí de la Sal stands out for its historical value. It is located next to the town hall square, on Carrer de la Ciutat. It was built in 1651 and is included in the Inventari del Patrimoni Històric de Catalunya.

It was used as a salt, flour and chocolate mill. On the rear façade there are still visible elements from its former use as a mill.
