Delays of up to an hour at several airports due to the failure of Iberia's systems

A crash in Iberia's systems this Saturday has caused the stoppage of the airline's billing and boarding service in Madrid, which is causing one-hour delays in the first flights in the morning at various airports, as reported by the airline.

The failure is located in Madrid but a delay at the Madrid-Barajas Adolfo Suárez Airport "may affect several airports," the company added. Iberia has indicated that "they are working to resume the service as soon as possible and to be able to solve it as soon as possible." The objective is to carry out the second wave of flights at 12:00, in which operations with America are concentrated. Therefore, the airline apologizes to its customers for "the inconvenience that the situation is causing them."

From Iberia they recognized that the first wave of flights in the morning has suffered delays and there have been some crowds of passengers waiting to board, although these planes have already been able to leave.

Now, as explained by these same sources, the priority is, while the problem in the systems is solved to return to normality, to work so that the flights of the second wave of long-haul trips in the morning can take off. This is scheduled, approximately, around 12:00.
