Day of reflection between markets and walks for the Basque candidates

The candidates for lehendakari in the Basque elections have taken a break in the day of reflection this Saturday with activities such as going to the mountains, shopping in the market or even singing in a choir, in addition to being with the family.

After the intense political agenda that they have carried out in the last two weeks of the campaign, the main candidates have taken the opportunity to rest before the election day tomorrow, Sunday, and have asked citizens to go to the polls.

The PNV and PSE-EE candidates for the Presidency of the Basque Government, Imanol Pradales and Eneko Andueza, both residents of Portugalete, shopped in a market in this Biscayan town, where they greeted each other.

Pradales, who bought some cakes and flowers to take home, stated in statements to the media that, after having contrasted models and seeing what each party has proposed in the campaign, he wants tomorrow's elections to produce a "great participation" because "the government of Euskadi" is at stake for the next four years.

Andueza, along with his wife, accompanied one of his daughters to a basketball game in the Biscayan town of Barakaldo, after which he bought fruit and sweets at the market. He plans to celebrate a birthday at a lunch and will spend the afternoon resting at his home to prepare for Sunday's election day.

For his part, the candidate for EH Bildu's lehendakari, Pello Otxandiano, took a short walk through the mountains and spent the day of reflection with his family to "disconnect and rest" after an electoral campaign and a few "very intense" months.

Otxandiano has called on people to go to vote tomorrow, since "the future of the coming years" will be decided and it will be an "important day."

The candidate for lehendakari for the PP, Javier de Andrés, has met with the volunteers who have participated in his electoral campaign to thank them for their work with an aperitif at the party headquarters in Vitoria, which included a crab casserole that he has prepared the same.

Afterwards, he will eat in Labastida (Álava) with members of the PP from Álava and will dedicate the afternoon to his family.

The candidate for lehendakari of Elkarrekin Podemos, Miren Gorrotxategi, has had a different plan, who performed this morning with her choir, the Bogoroditsie, at the Kurutzesantu Museum in Durango, as part of a cultural program by the city council of this Biscayan town.

Gorrotxategi has highlighted the importance of participation, whether in cultural programs or politics, and added that tomorrow is the "special day" for participation in the elections. "I hope everyone feels convinced and goes to vote," he said.

Sumar's candidate for Lehendakari, Alba García, spent the day of reflection with friends and supporters. She has met with them and walked along the promenade located between Azkorri and Sopela, in Bizkaia.

The Vox candidate, Amaia Martínez, had planned to eat with members and friends who have traveled to Euskadi to act as representatives at the polling stations on election day this Sunday. In the afternoon she will dedicate herself to resting, listening to music and reading at her house with her husband.
