Cuaca is very sad, she eats little, and now she is limping. She has failed again, once again, in her attempt to have children. In The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia we can see with what sorrow she observes her egg floating in the water. She has been left, once again, without being able to have a family, no chick has been born.
Cuaca insists, year after year, on laying her eggs on the stone of the monastery pond and it may not be the best place, although she always tries to do so in this very place.
Cuaca is placed in the upper part of the stone of the spout of the cloister of the monastery of Pedralbes. She has been incubating there for days, but has run out of ducklings again.
We have seen how the eggs floated in the water and she, sad, contemplated them, as can be seen in the photos. But, in the monastery, everyone loves her very much. She is well known and popular with visitors for so many years that she comes here for the incubation period, but there is no way for her to have offspring.
Last year, in a new attempt to have pups, she changed partners. He got together with a duck that was slimmer and taller than his previous male, although very elusive, for which reason in the monastery he was known by the name of Arisco.
This year, following the same strategy as the previous one, Cuaca has changed partners again. Instead of Rough, she can be seen with another duck, more sociable and generous. We call Cuaca's new companion, who has the thinnest neck, Precious. But she with him she has not managed to have ducklings either.
