A go-kart race has aroused the interest - if not the indignation - of half of France. A video broadcast last Friday of the peculiar competition in the courtyard of the Fresnes prison (Val de Marne) has spread like wildfire through social networks and the digital editions of the main media in the midst of the controversy .
This Saturday, the Minister of Justice, Éric Dupond-Moretti, has indicated that he has ordered an investigation to try to clarify some events that would have occurred at the end of July within a recreational program to the delight of the inmates.
"After seeing the shocking images of the Fresnes prison, I have immediately ordered an investigation to shed light. The fight against recidivism goes through reintegration, but of course not by karting!", The minister has indicated through his account from Twitter.
The inmates themselves, prison officials and even some young people from the neighborhood where the prison is located would have participated in the competition.
As a result of the dissemination of these videos, the messages of surprise and stupor have not been long in coming from across the political spectrum.
