Compromise alert that the attacks of Unides Podemos can demobilize the left

The constant attacks by Podem and in particular by its candidate Héctor Illueca for Compromís threaten to make the campaign in which the Botànic is risking its survival more difficult. It is evident that both parties are political rivals (when one grows, the other decreases), but the purple vice president's insistence on confronting the Valencianistas may end up causing a demobilization on the part of that left-wing voter who still doubts.

They believe so, at least, in Compromís. A coalition leader explained to La Vanguardia yesterday that "if Podem intends to shake the political chessboard by attacking Compromís, the only thing that can cause is that a percentage of that left-wing voter stays at home." Internal studies of the Valencian party predict that the right is more mobilized, and they fear that if attacks begin to cross, "the young voter, the voter who has ever supported Podem or Compromís, will be disgusted and opt for abstention".

As a result of the presence of Compromís in Sumar, Illueca has increased criticism of this formation and its candidate Joan Baldoví. He has accused them of blocking the agreement between the purples and Yolanda Díaz so as not to lose "their media support and their complicity with the Socialist Party." He has even pointed out on several occasions that he has become more conservative after Oltra's departure. The Podem candidate has used the name of the one who was vice president of the Consell from 2015 to 2022 to attack Compromís.

Some criticisms that from the Oltra environment consulted by this newspaper replicate. "Attributing to a person who has not intervened for months in any public debate things that he does not think and setting yourself up as an interpreter of Oltra is impolite and disrespectful," the same sources point out. In this line, they recall that Oltra has decided to remain silent after leaving the front line "precisely because those who now lament that he is not there did not defend her."

At this point they differentiate the behavior of Esquerra Unida (both in public and in private) from that of Podem throughout the crisis that ended with the resignation of the leader of Compromís.

Thus, they believe that Illueca's criticisms and the use of clinging to Oltra to defend his political option show "the weakness of a candidate who must refer to someone from outside." In Compromís, they believe that Podem must "overcome its internal turmoil" and not try to end up contaminating the left.

For this reason, the coalition is not going to contribute to the crossing of accusations and is going to focus "on the municipal and regional elections, aware that its only objective is the right and the extreme right."
