Colau and Ayuso kiss, Vrubel-style, at Primavera Sound

The Primavera Sound festival has displayed this Thursday in the Parc del Fòrum a large canvas in which the mayor of Barcelona, Ada Colau and the president of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, appear, kissing.

The large banner replicates the famous mural painted on the remains of the Berlin Wall in which the leader of the Soviet Union Leonid Brezhnev and the president of the German Democratic Republic Erich Honecker kissing on the mouth, the work of the Russian artist Dmitri Vrubel.

As in the original work, the image of Colau and Ayuso kissing is accompanied by the words in Russian "My God, help me survive this deadly love."

Right next to the kiss between Colau and Ayuso, the festival has placed another banner that reads: "Barcelona Madrid = Primavera Sound. Diversity, Culture, Tolerance", and in which it announces the sale of tickets for the edition of the next year, to be held in both cities.

Speaking to journalists at the same festival, Colau gave the mural his approval: "I love that art provokes, I love freedom of expression."

"I have always defended that the cities of Barcelona and Madrid love each other and collaborate and have a thousand ties and cultural, historical and affective ties, of all kinds. What makes me sick is that there may be some leaders who want to confront our cities They will never find me here, I will always defend love and cooperation between cities and people", added the mayor.

Colau has also repeated that "Barcelona and Primavera are inseparable" and that the council is working to agree on a new contract to guarantee the future of the festival in the city.

The controversy over the celebration of Primavera Sound in the two cities and the relationship between the organizers and the Barcelona City Council has intensified in recent days in which the co-director of the festival, Gabi Ruiz, has once again charged against the Barcelona City Council, threatening to definitively abandon the Catalan capital.
