Chronology of a political operation

It was the retired commissioner José Manuel Villarejo who, during one of his first appearances before the court, baptized the plan ordered by the leadership of the PP to discredit the independence movement with police fabrications leaked to the press as Operation Catalonia.

The commissioner's meticulous agendas allow us to reconstruct, day by day, those maneuvers. Villarejo points out who gives him orders, who he reports to and where he gets the information from. They draw a chronology of the operation, which began in the autumn of 2012, after the first massive Diada and with the call for elections by Artur Mas, after Mariano Rajoy's slamming of the fiscal pact demanded by the Government. They lost steam in 2013 and were reactivated with force in 2014, to torpedo the 9-N consultation.
