BBVA Spark, the new financial support that startups need to grow

In the process of improvement in which BBVA constantly remains, to provide its clients with the best financial tools, Spark bursts in. This is an initiative to support startups -and companies with high innovation potential- in the financial support they need to grow. For the occasion, the entity has a team made up of specialists dedicated to accompanying companies in Spain and Mexico. The main objective of the new division is to respond to the demands of the companies that are defining the future with their challenge and the talent of their human team.

BBVA Spark was created with the aim of helping companies in their day-to-day operations, both with traditional banking products and with more sophisticated products, such as venture debt or growth loans. The first, a common type of financing in markets such as Silicon Valley, which gives companies access to the financing they need. In this way, entrepreneurs can finance themselves and grow with a much lower dilution of their stake in the company. For their part, growth loans allow the most established innovative companies to undertake expansion and growth projects.

In short, Spark is presented as the solution for the thousands of companies that arise every year in our country that intend to develop an ambitious projection in different fields of innovation, accompanying them with its specialized team and dedicated 100% to this type of client. A proximity that connects with the Open Innovation ecosystem to promote innovation and collaboration of startups from any sector with the bank.

With the aim of publicizing the new proposal aimed at this type of company, on February 24, at 10 a.m., BBVA Spark will offer an online training session (webinar) with Miquel Vicente, president of Tech Barcelona and president and co-founder from Antai Ventures; Verónica Ruiz, head of BBVA Spark in Spain; Peio Belausteguigoitia, country manager of BBVA Spain and two representatives of leading startups that have revolutionized the sector. It will be moderated by Enric Sierra, deputy director of La Vanguardia.
