Barcelona women imposed logic at the Butarque stadium in Leganés and beat Real Madrid this afternoon (4-0) in the semifinal of the Spanish Super Cup. In Saturday's final they will face Levante, who left out Atlético de Madrid on Tuesday.
There are times when the distance between Barcelona and Real Madrid seems to be getting shorter. In this same competition last season, Barça needed extra time to get into the final, but on other occasions it seemed like it stretched like a piece of gum and the distance once again became astronomical in size. This is what happened yesterday on the cold afternoon in Butarque in which, despite the losses, Madrid lasted barely a quarter of an hour against Barcelona, in which they had already scored two goals and gave them a feeling of overwhelming superiority. At half-time, already 3-0 and thanks to Madrid, the game was looking like a real beating.
Alberto Toril's team is still unable to beat the Blaugrana. With this, there are already thirteen classics won by those coached by Jonatan Giráldez, who continue to have an impeccable season, in first position in the League, with 39 points, 59 goals for and only three goals against. Furthermore, the Blaugranas have already won all 19 games they have played this campaign and in 14 of them they have kept a clean sheet.
Toril, with an expiration date like Giraldez and more questioned than ever after the recent elimination in the Champions League, made three changes to the team that had just won 0-5 against Betis in the Copa de la Reina.
