The 27th edition of the European Balloon Festival, which officially kicked off on Thursday, has the traditional morning flights -from Thursday to Sunday- and afternoon flights -from Thursday to Saturday-.
All the flights take off from the Central Park of Igualada, with the exception of yesterday Friday morning, when the take-off was made from different places in the city.
Balloon flights coexist these days and until tomorrow with numerous recreational and cultural activities that take place inside the Igloos de Vent -recycled hot air balloon fabrics-, which have been installed in different parts of the city.
One of the novelties of this year's contest has been the presentation of the romantic balloon. It is a heart-shaped balloon that has a basket adapted for two people in which they are seated and tied. The basket is lower so that they can contemplate the landscape while sitting.
In this report in Las Fotos de los Lectores de La Vanguardia we can appreciate how balloons today are manufactured in very different and varied shapes and designs.
Another novelty will take place this Saturday night with a drone show that will revolve around the theme of balloons. The event will complement the traditional Night Glow, the night lighting of the balloons.
