Bad Gyal's surprising works before becoming dancehall queen

Bad Gyal was born in 2016, when Alba Farelo from Vilasar published the video for Pai, her first song. The Catalanized version with its own identity of Rihanna's Work reached 3 million views and that was only the promising beginning of a career with which she has already traveled around the world.

This week the singer is scheduled to release her latest work, La Joia, the singer's debut studio album that will feature collaborations with artists such as Quevedo, Myke Towers, Tokischa, Young Miko, Anitta, Tommy Lee Sparta, Ñengo Flow or Morad.

But before entering the world of music, Farelo, daughter of the Catalan actor Eduard Farelo, worked in a local bakery in Vilasar and a call center. In 2016 she began studying fashion design at the Barcelona University Center for Arts and Design (BAU), but she left the degree the following year to focus on her passion, music.

Bad Gyal's first mixtape, Slow Wine Mixtape, was released on November 9, 2016, with songs as iconic as Mercadona or Despacio. Later, in 2018 he released another mixtape, Worldwide Angel, in which he presented, among others, the songs Internationally, tra or Yo seguir iual. After that came his first EP, Warm Up, and the same year he released his second, Sound System: The Final Releases.

Before reaching the top positions on the playlists, the artist recorded at home and with the help of friends she managed to release her first songs while working. After releasing those first songs, she finally focused completely on her artistic career.
