The Fonts dels Llobregat, in Castellar de N'hug, Berguedà region, have already dressed in autumn, as we can see in The Photos of the Readers of La Vanguardia.
The excursion to visit the sources of the Llobregat is a classic of this season of the year, especially among Catalan families. These are underground water springs in Paleozoic calcareous rocks found at the source of the Llobregat River.
Specifically, it is located in Pleta Roja, at 1295 meters above sea level, within the municipality of Castellar de n'Hug. The Fonts del Llobregat are located approximately half a kilometer west of the town.
It is a very visited place every year. The sources where the river is born flow directly from the cliffs that border Castellar de n'Hug and form an abundant and rapid waterfall.
The water that goes down through the cracks and cavities of the calcareous rocks (karst aquifer) hits the clay layer, much more impermeable, and comes to the surface. The flow rate of the fountain is around 4 m3 per second.
Not far from the Fonts del Llobregat, in La Pobla de Lillet, also in Berguedà, we can enjoy the autumn landscape, with low clouds, as seen in this other series of photographs.
