'As bestas' and 'Apagón' shine on the night of the Forqué Awards

As bestas and Apagón are the great winners of the Forqué awards, which were delivered this Saturday night at the IFEMA Madrid Municipal Palace, in a gala presented by Adrián Lastra and Esmeralda Pimentel that opens the audiovisual industry awards season Spanish.

Rodrigo Sorogoyen's rural thriller set in Galician lands continues to win awards since its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, dazzling audiences and critics alike. So much so that it won the award for Best Fiction and/or Animation Feature Film. In addition, its protagonist Denis Ménochet, won the trophy for Best Male Performance.

For its part, the anthology created by Fran Araujo was recognized as Best Fiction Series, while Jesús Carroza won the award for Best Male Performance in a Series.

The Catalan Laia Costa also shone last night after getting her first Forqué for best female performance for Cinco Lobitos, a film that also won the Film and Education in Values ​​award. Mónica López closed the list of awards for acting, taking the Forqué for her role in the series Rapa.

The statuette for best documentary feature went to Labordeta, a man without more, and Strings won the award for Best Cinematographic Short Film. The film starring Ricardo Darín, Argentina, 1985, which deals with the historical judicial processes after the Argentine dictatorship, also obtained recognition with the Forqué for best Latin American film of the year.

Enrique Cerezo was in charge of presenting the Gold Medal, which recognizes the work of industry professionals, to the producer José Luis Bermúdez de Castro, who has worked, among others, with Fernando Fernán Gómez, Javier Aguirre and Eloy de church.

Beyond the awards ceremony, another special moment during the gala was the tribute to Verónica Forqué, a fundamental figure in Spanish cinema that the awards have kept in mind. Some excited Antonio Resines and Silvia Abascal have taken the stage to dedicate a few words to her just as the first anniversary of her death is celebrated. During the night, the Cuban musician Pablo Milanés was also remembered, in whose honor Adrián Lastra and Clara Alvarado sang as a duet.
