Arsenal regains the lead and puts pressure on City

Maximum excitement in the Premier League. Arsenal's victory this Sunday at Old Trafford against Manchester United allows them to regain the lead with a point difference over Manchester City. A goal from Trossard (20) gave Arteta's team the victory.

Now, Guardiola's team has played one less game. City has two games left and if they win they will be crowned Premier League champions for the fourth consecutive time, a milestone that has never been achieved in England. Pep's men visit Tottenham on Tuesday and finish the league on Sunday at home against West Ham. For their part, the Gunners will host Everton at the Emirates on the last day.

The match at Old Trafford had its morbidity. A draw or a victory for United served to give a little help to the neighbor. Because if Arsenal did not win, City had in hand to become champions this Tuesday in London.

With the victory of Arteta's team, what is guaranteed is that the Premier League will not be resolved until the last day.

It was a laborious victory against a willing United team but with very little talent. Absent Rashford, Ten Hag's team did not have much light three-quarters of the field forward. If we add to that the defensive mistake that led to the 0-1 draw, then it's a bad deal for United. Havertz set up Trossard on the right and Arsenal took the lead. From here they did not need to do much in attack to certify the three points, although Martinelli and Rice came close to second. They ran into some good hands from Onana. The meekest United in recent decades hardly bothered the Gunners' orderly defence. Strokes of Garnacho, with a couple of interesting attempts, and that's it.

The 'red devils' are eighth in the standings and suffered their 14th defeat in the championship. Regrettable.
