The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested a 36-year-old woman for stealing 4,206 euros in jewellery, from the house where she worked in Far d'Empordà (Alt Empordà). The arrested woman did the housework in the house and it was her when she was left alone when she took the opportunity to take the jewelry that she took out of the drawers in the rooms.
The owners did not notice, since they are objects that they did not use on a regular basis. Specifically, the woman stole gold bracelets, wedding rings, pendants, earrings and chains, which later came from two gold trading establishments. It was the continuous transactions that alerted the Mossos d'Esquadra, who began an investigation.
The agents verified that the woman had carried out up to twenty operations in these two establishments, on suspicion that the jewels were not hers. Finally, the police were able to verify that the woman was selling the jewelry that she took from her house when the owners who had hired her did not see her, because they were not there.
For all this, the Mossos arrested her this Tuesday for a crime of theft inside the home. It is expected that in the next few days they will summon the suspect to answer before the duty judge.
