The Municipal Police of Madrid have arrested a 27-year-old woman for driving more than 12 kilometers in the opposite direction and under the influence of alcohol on the M-30 ring road in the Madrid capital.
The events occurred early Thursday morning when at two o'clock in the morning the Municipal Police received several calls warning of the presence of a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction through the tunnels of the M-30.
After being located by two police vehicles, the woman began to carry out evasive maneuvers, managing to avoid one of them and finally being intercepted by the second, according to the Municipal Police.
The agents observed that the woman had symptoms of drunkenness and performed breathalyzer tests in which the young woman quadrupled the maximum rate allowed, for which she was arrested for a crime against road safety.
Members of the Judicial Traffic Police Station of the Municipal Police took statements from witnesses and in the viewing of cameras observed how the woman drove for a dozen kilometers in the opposite direction.
The Municipal Police have transferred the proceedings to the judicial authority for the holding of a speedy trial.
