Aragonès leaves it up in the air if he will go to the ANC march

A little more than a week before September 11, the president of the Generalitat, Pere Aragonès, has not yet decided whether he will attend the demonstration called by the pro-independence organizations for this year.

The head of the Catalan Executive remains unknown about his presence at an event convened with an openly hostile spirit towards the independence parties, especially for ERC. He will weigh in his decision the bad experience he experienced last year, when he went with the senior staff of his party and they were booed.

In the Govern they officially place in "the next few days" the decision that concerns the president but also the rest of the ministers, although it is evident that the decision of Aragonès is the most relevant. If he attends, it is likely that he will again suffer the reprimand of the protesters, who already made his commitment to dialogue ugly a year ago. If he does not attend, the leading role will be taken by Junts, whose leaders have already assured their presence, and who these days prove their loyalty to the independence cause with threats of leaving the Government if the president does not redirect his "tactical autonomy".

The general secretary of Junts, Jordi Turull assured La Vanguardia of his attendance at this year's demonstration and it is confirmed that some of the councilors consulted on the post-convergence formation will also go, such as the one for Economy, Jaume Giró, who boasts of attending since 1977 , the Minister of Social Rights, Violant Cervera or the Minister of Universities, Gemma Geis. Laura Borràs is also expected to attend.

On the other hand, from ERC they are not at all clear about going to a march to which the organizers no longer invite politicians since 2019. Their ministers have not made a decision while waiting for what the president resolves, aware that the acts of the Diada can put in evidence the distance between the political organizations and the most mobilized bases of the independence movement.

Meanwhile, the Catalan Executive yesterday presented the poster for the Diada and this year's institutional acts, among which the fact that Aragonès will make his official speech this time from the Roman forum of Empúries, in Girona, stronghold of independence stands out. In the Government they emphasize that with these acts, the strength of the independence movement and its demands are reflected.
