The theft of the cable has been the cause of the incident that occurred this Sunday on the R4 of Rodalies, which has forced the interruption of rail circulation for about two and a half hours between Molins de Rei and Cornellà de Llobregat, where it circulates on a single track the works to bury the tracks in Sant Feliu de Llobregat.
As reported by Adif on its Twitter account, the incident was due to acts of vandalism, specifically cable theft, on the railway infrastructure in Sant Feliu de Llobregat. It is not the first similar incident in recent weeks.
And it is that on April 25 there was also another cable theft in the same area that caused incidents in the Rodalies network. It was in the stretch of tracks between Molins de Rei and the capital of Baix Llobregat, where the provisional station is already in operation, allowing trains to continue running during the works.
Rail traffic was interrupted this Sunday between 1:15 p.m. and 3:45 p.m., when technicians from the infrastructure manager were able to repair the damage. As reported by Renfe, although circulation is already restored, delays on the lines persist, approximately 30 minutes. Complete normality will come gradually, as is usual in these cases.
Civil Protection, for its part, has explained that the pre-alert of the Ferrocat emergency plan in passenger transport has been terminated. This Sunday's incident adds to those regretted in recent weeks, when the Rodalies network has suffered mishaps.
