An alligator invades the runway of a military airport in Florida

Those responsible for MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa are still surprised by what they found next to the landing gear of a KC-135 aerial refueling plane. A large alligator settled on the landing strip, hindering any operation and endangering the safety of the personnel.

Officials from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission were in charge of removing it from the military installations, but not without putting in a lot of effort to do so. Apart from the instruments provided to handle it, the officials had to use some type of anesthesia to be able to transfer it to the Hillsborough River, close to the military air base.

Wildlife officials say that at this time of year, alligators regularly wander through multiple unknown territories, because they are mating and looking for a partner.
