Alicante-Elche airport multiplies its connections with Rome with the offer of Wizz Air

The Hungarian low-cost airline Wizz Air has announced four new connections from its base at the Roman airport of Fiumicino that will debut in the spring of 2024, and one of them will link Rome with the Alicante-Elche airport; the others will fly to Hamburg, Berlin and Copoenhagen.

This new Rome-Alicante route will begin on April 1, 2024 and schedules three weekly flights (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). Like the rest, it will be operated by Airbus A321 NEO with 239 seats. Outbound flights will depart at 10:40 p.m. with arrival in Rome at 12:45 a.m., and the return time is 7:40 p.m.-10:00 p.m., with prices starting at 65 euros.

Until now, the route was covered by Vueling and Ryanair. The first offers four weekly flights to the capital of Lazio, on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Ryanair maintains two weekly flights in both directions - Tuesdays and Saturdays - during the winter season, without knowing its schedule for the next spring-summer season.

In addition, Wizz Air will increase its operations for next summer on its routes between Alicante-Elche and Bucharest, which will go from three to four weekly flights (Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday) and Budapest, which will increase from two to four (Tuesday , Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays). The Hungarian airline Wizz Air adds eight routes in Alicante with the new Roman connection, to five countries: Budapest (Hungary), Bucharest and Cluj-Napoca (Romania), Rome Fiumicino (Italy), Sofia (Bulgaria) and Gdansk, Katowice and Warsaw (Poland).
