Carlos Alcaraz has announced that he will not compete in the Rome Masters 1000 that begins next week at the Foro Italico due to the injury to his right forearm that kept him from the Monte Carlo Masters 1000 and the Barcelona tournament.
The Murcian already indicated at the end of the match against the Russian Andry Rublev, in the round of 16 of the Madrid Masters 1000, who played with his arm protected with a sleeve, that he had not had a good feeling in the area.
After undergoing medical tests to find out the situation of his forearm, the world number three has announced on social networks that he will not play in the Rome tournament.
“I felt pain after playing in Madrid, discomfort in my arm. Today I had some tests and I have muscle edema in the pronator teres, a consequence of my last injury. Unfortunately I won't be able to play in Rome. I need rest to recover and be able to play one hundred percent without pain,” Alcaraz said.
Carlos Alcaraz, who will now begin recovering from the injury, had the intention of playing in the Rome tournament, but after the injury his intention is to arrive in perfect condition at Roland Garros, which begins on June 26.
