Al Khelaifi, investigated for alleged kidnapping and torture

Nasser Al Khelaifi will be investigated by three investigative courts in Paris for allegedly kidnapping and torturing Tayeb Benabderrahmane, allegedly persecuted in 2020 for having sensitive information about the personal life of the PSG president and also for having documents that would prove irregularities in the election Qatar to host the World Cup.

"We are very happy that the denunciation of this story is finally the subject of an investigation by French justice," the legal representatives of Benabderrahmane, Maîtres Romain Ruiz and Gabriel Vejnar, told L'Équipe. The information about this plot was revealed last September by Libération.

The newspaper detailed that the businessman was interrogated and subjected to great psychological pressure for many months, until on November 1, 2020, he was finally released after delivering a USB with the information that a priori put Al Khelaifi, a personal friend of the Emir of Qatar, Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

Before becoming involved in this plot, Benabderrahmane had been associated with members of the great right-wing party in France, Les Républicains. At that time, according to the newspaper's information, he was introduced to Al Khelaifi, through whom, and with the approval of the Qatari authorities, he moved to Doha with his family after accepting a tempting job offer.

Everything seemed to be going well for the businessman until some agents allegedly presented themselves as members of the security forces and arrested him near his home with only one explanation: "By order of the emir." After being martyred for days, according to Libération, Benabderrahmane gave the confidential USB to the lawyer Olivier Pardo, who delivered the information to the Francis Szpiner and Renaud Semerdjian law firm, hired by the PSG president.
