A woman of about 30 years of age has threatened to burn herself 'a la bonzo' this Thursday at the headquarters of the Valencian Housing and Land Entity, located on Gerona street in Alicante, according to Radio Alicante-Cadena SER.
The event took place around 12:20, when the young woman sprayed herself with gasoline while holding a lighter in her hand and threatened to set herself on fire inside the Generalitat Valenciana building.
Fortunately, agents of the National Police have been able to immobilize the woman, who has been transferred by ambulance to the General Hospital of Alicante.
As a worker who attends to the users of the Housing Agency explained to Cadena SER, "usually very nervous people come, especially when they have been waiting for a home for years and, nowadays, with such high rents, every Sometimes the situation is more desperate and sometimes they do things like that, out of desperation, that they can't take it anymore".
