A woman has been seriously injured in Mallorca as a result of an attack by a pack of pit bulls. Five dogs attacked the woman when she was walking through the countryside in the municipality of Felanitx. The woman has serious injuries and tears to her arms and legs as a result of the brutal attack by the animals. She is admitted to a hospital in Mallorca due to the seriousness of her injuries and at first she had to be treated by a mobile ICU.
The 38-year-old woman was walking on the outskirts of the town when the five dogs pounced on her. Despite her serious injuries, which have left her immobilized, the woman was able to free herself from the animals and called the emergency services to come and help her.
A team of firefighters, as well as members of the Civil Guard and the Local Police, have traveled to the area. Given the woman's serious situation, the firefighters required the presence of a mobile UVO where first aid was performed while she was taken to the Son Espases hospital, in Palma.
The police officers carried out a search through the area and three of the five dogs were shot dead, while the other two fled into the countryside. The agents continue to comb the area to find the two animals that fled to hunt them down and prevent a new attack. These are two very dangerous animals.
The Police are now investigating who owns these dogs and why they were loose when they are considered very dangerous animals. The pit bull breed is a cross between terriers and bulldogs and was initially used for dog fighting. The owners of this type of animals are required to take out civil liability insurance due to their danger.
A little over a month ago, a woman died in Zamora after an attack by a pack of dogs owned by a shepherd who was taking the animals through the area where the woman was out for a walk. The woman was talking on her cell phone at that moment with her mother and she was able to warn her about the attack.
