A weekend to celebrate wine

Tasting nearly one hundred references from some sixty wineries from all the Catalan denominations of origin and qualified areas, with a significant specific weight of DO Empordà wines, is the offer of the Fira del Vi Costa Brava that is celebrated until tomorrow, Sunday. in Palafrugell.

La Bòbila de Palafrugell (La Garriga, 24) is becoming, according to the Union of Hospitality and Tourism Entrepreneurs of the Costa Brava Center, in the center of "the capital of Catalonia's wines and sparkling wines". The enogastronomic space will have workshops and guided tasting activities, "to promote and introduce the wine and gastronomic products of our territory".

Access to the workshops is by reservation. This year the gastronomic offer continues to expand. In addition to the traditional Catalan cheese table, gastronomic tastings prepared by the restaurants of the Cuina de l'Empordanet collective are offered. Also until tomorrow, Sunday, the Mar de Vins fair will be held in the Plaza de la Església in Castelldefels. Wines from ten wineries will be paired with gastronomy and live music.

And the DO Tarragona is already preparing its Festa de la Verema, with wine tourism proposals from September 23 to October 8. The wineries Celler Mas del Botó, Celler Mas Vicenç, Celler Pedrola, Celler Suñer, Cellers Blanch, Vinícola de Nulles and Vinya Janine are participating. There will be everything from vintage breakfasts and meals with tastings to kayaking or experiencing the harvest in first person, “and thus doing a bit in the preparation of the next vintage.”
