Four weeks after the brutal fire that claimed the lives of 10 people in the Valencian neighborhood of Campanar, the Valencia City Council has reported that a total of 229 people have already settled in the municipal building enabled to accommodate the affected families. by fire. In this way, 99 homes of the 131 available have been occupied, in which 187 adults and 42 minors already reside.

The City Council explains in a statement that these new residents of the Safranar neighborhood, in the Patraix district, "began to move to this property a few days after the incident." As announced after the tragedy, "families with children, the elderly, dependents and those with special needs have had priority when entering to live in said building."

“Within the context of the emergency aid, granted by the Valencia City Council to those affected by the fire in the Campanar building, the process of relocating the families has already been completed,” highlighted the Councilor for Urban Planning, Housing and Licenses, Juan Giner.

Regarding the 131 homes, 85 of these have two bedrooms with a useful area of ​​45-53 square meters, while the remaining 46 homes have three bedrooms and have a surface area between 65 and 74 square meters.

The work to adapt the properties has been carried out by around thirty workers from the Department of Housing and Urban Planning who, from the day after the fire, worked voluntarily to provide these homes with electricity and water services.
