A resident of Vitoria denounces the City Council after burning himself in the shower of a civic center

A resident of Vitoria-Gasteiz has filed a lawsuit against the City Council of the Álava capital for having burned himself in the shower of a civic center in the city. The events occurred on July 7, 2022, when the man went to the adapted showers after having been swimming in a civic center in this municipality.

The news, released by Noticias de Álava, occurred, firstly, because the man lacks feeling in his legs. This situation prevents him from discerning temperatures and, in this case, prevented him from perceiving that he was burning.

Secondly, according to the complaint, the shower did not distinguish between hot and cold water, so he could not tell which water he was showering with.

The complainant, according to Noticias de Álava, began to feel sick and feverish when he got home, and after verifying that the lower extremities were red, especially the right one, he decided to go to the emergency room. Once there, the toilets diagnosed him with a second-degree burn on his lower right extremity.

The man requests compensation of 75,081.41 euros; As it was a claim for an amount greater than 18,000 euros, the case became in the hands of the Euskadi Legal Advisory Commission. This body has not appreciated responsibility on the part of the City Council.

In any case, once the resolution of the Euskadi Legal Advisory Commission is known, the man may continue with the legal path.
