A man who had barricaded himself in Mallorca and threatened to kill his mother was arrested

Civil Guard agents have arrested a man who had barricaded himself in the family home and threatened to kill his mother with a large knife. During the operation, the man even fired arrows with a crossbow he owned from one of the windows of the building where he was barricaded.

Faced with this threat, the Civil Guard decided to intervene and demolished the access door to the home. At that moment, one of the agents was slightly injured by a concussion. Given the possibility that the situation could get complicated, Civil Guard agents had surrounded the house and taken positions to intervene if necessary.

The operation began early in the morning and agents from the Sóller Local Police also participated. The agents had approached the home after being informed that a complaint of sexual assault had been filed against the man. The Civil Guard had received a complaint about death threats and sexual assault against a woman residing in the town of Sóller.

Following the complaint, a Citizen Security patrol went to the author's home to arrest him, but it was at this moment that the problem began. When he was going to be subdued, the man barricaded himself inside the home and threatened to kill his mother with a large knife.

The Civil Guard had sent a negotiator to the area to try to persuade the man to leave the home and release his mother. The operation has aroused great concern in Sóller, a small town at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana, where he has set up a large police force to try to avoid any tragedy.

The entire area was isolated and closed to traffic and only members of the security forces could access it, while residents are now prohibited from entering. Emergency services and an ambulance have taken positions in the vicinity in case a quick intervention is necessary.
