A man suffers burns on 70% of his body when a hut explodes in Arcos

The explosion in a shack located at the back of a gas station in Arcos de la Frontera (Cádiz) has left a 62-year-old man in serious condition after suffering burns on 70% of his body, as reported by the Firefighters Consortium of the Province of Cádiz in a statement.

The event occurred around 12 pm last Tuesday in the aforementioned hut, inside which the victim was located, who was evacuated by agents of the Arcos Local Police who had arrived in the area.

Once outside, the man was treated by the displaced health services, covering him with a thermal blanket and intubating him to be transferred to the hospital in serious condition due to the burns suffered on his body.

According to Firefighters, upon inspecting the area no cylinder was found inside that could cause the explosion, so everything points to a generator in the hut as the cause of the detonation.

The fire affected about 60 square meters of land and was quickly extinguished in an action in which a team of firefighters from the Arcos de la Frontera park participated, with a light urban fire engine and a command vehicle. The area was marked off and the Local Police were in charge.
