When Pozoblanco is still in mourning for the murder yesterday of a 31-year-old woman at the hands of her ex-partner, the town is once again hit by a new possible case of gender violence. On this occasion, the 41-year-old victim has been attacked with a knife by her sentimental partner in the swimming pool facilities of the Cordovan municipality campsite.
The alleged perpetrator has already been arrested since the affected person is admitted to the ICU of the Valle de Los Pedroche Hospital, with a reserved prognosis.
Sources close to the case have informed the EFE agency that the couple's daughter has been injured in the face with a blow, after the minor tried to get her father to stop assaulting her mother. Some minor injuries that have not required hospitalization.
The Civil Guard is already investigating the events, which occurred at 2:00 p.m. this Wednesday, and the first indications suggest that it would be a new episode of ill-treatment perpetrated by the man towards his partner.
It wouldn't be the first time it happened. The victim had previously reported the attacker, but the case was inactive in March 2019.
It was Emergencies 112 who responded to the distress call of a relative of the woman warning of what had happened. A health unit went to the pool of this campsite to provide medical assistance to the woman who, according to Diario de Córdoba, had been attacked with a cutter. The health service gave her first aid on the spot and then transferred her to the regional hospital.
Shortly after, a Local Police patrol found the whereabouts of the man and intervened the weapon with which he allegedly committed the attack.
Today is the second day of mourning decreed by the Pozoblanco city council after a 31-year-old woman was found dead yesterday in her home from a shot next to the body of her ex-partner, who committed suicide next to her after committing the crime. Both the local government and the Government of the Junta de Andalucía expressed their rejection of these events, since the citizens of the Cordoba municipality joined forces to strongly condemn this new sexist crime.
On the morning of this Wednesday, the Government Delegation against Gender Violence confirmed that the death of the victim was added to the dramatic statistics that exist on this scourge: the woman from Cordoba, who was in the process of divorcing her partner, with who had 3 children, became the eleventh woman murdered in a sexist crime in Andalusia, number 35 nationwide in this 2023 after the 91-year-old woman killed in Tenerife and the victim from Almería, of just 27 years old.
