The Mossos d'Esquadra have arrested an 18-year-old for stealing a necklace from a woman in Girona. The woman was walking under the train tracks, near Avenida Folch i Torres, around 12:15 noon on Tuesday, July 11, when a man tore off a jewel with two pendants from her neck.
The victim immediately notified the Mossos, but by the time they arrived the young man had already left. Thanks to the indications and description of the attacker by the witnesses, the agents were able to locate him in the Plaza Independència, very close to the scene of the events.
Seeing the police, the young man started to run, but the agents were able to intercept him shortly after.
