A 63-year-old man has been arrested in Bilbao accused of assaulting and causing serious burns to his ex-partner, after setting his clothes on fire. The woman has been transferred to the Cruces hospital, as reported by the Security department.
The event occurred shortly before 4:00 p.m. this Thursday. Neighbors of a building in the Biscayan capital have alerted that a woman was seriously injured, apparently as a result of an attack.
Police and health personnel have gone to the scene and have verified that the victim had severe burns and bruises on different parts of the body, which have made it necessary for him to be evacuated to the Cruces hospital.
According to the information collected by the ertzainas, the cause of the injuries was her ex-partner, who, during an altercation that occurred at the woman's home, set her clothes on fire.
The alleged attacker has been arrested at the scene and immediately transferred to police stations.
