A man has been arrested for attempted murder after allegedly attacking his partner with a knife in the hospital where she had just given birth, as sources from the National Police have informed EFE.
The events occurred around 4 a.m. this Wednesday in a room at the Vinalopó Hospital in Elche (Alicante) where the woman was recovering after giving birth while the baby was still in neonates.
According to the same sources, the health personnel who went to the room found the 37-year-old man with a knife, with which he had allegedly caused cuts on the woman's arms, hands, fingers and neck, for which She had to be admitted to the ICU.
In turn, the 28-year-old woman allegedly attacked the man with a hammer, apparently hitting him nine or ten times with hammers on the head, and requiring stitches.
The causes of the attack are being investigated, which could be due to the woman wanting to end the relationship.
The man was arrested for attempted murder and is in the cells of the Elche National Police station, from where he will surely be brought to justice this Friday.
