The Local Police of Palma have arrested a 50-year-old man at dawn who allegedly brutally attacked his partner in the head with a hammer at their home. The agents are investigating how the attack occurred, but they believe that the woman was violently attacked with a blunt element that could be a hammer. The attack affected her head and other parts of her body, where serious damage was also reported, according to the police.
The events occurred at dawn, moments before the police arrived at the home and arrested the aggressor upon seeing the serious injuries suffered by the victim. Apparently the woman was sleeping at the time the attack occurred and the police are now investigating the reasons that led to the excessive attack.
It was the man who called the Police to report the attack in view of the damage caused to the woman. A patrol from the Local Police of Palma immediately went to the home and it was the woman, still conscious, who alerted the officers that the attacks had been carried out by her partner, as detailed in a statement by the Local Police itself.
The man was immediately arrested for a crime of gender violence and attempted homicide and the woman was immediately transferred to the Son Espases hospital, in Palma, where she is now recovering from her injuries. Police continue the investigation to determine the circumstances of this violent attack.
