A gastro route for the most cheese lovers

It's a good time for cheese lovers. Until next December 13, a dozen Barcelona restaurants will offer dishes made with the Swiss variety Le Gruyère AOP on the occasion of the 10 Barcelona Experiences gastronomic route, which started last week.

The operation is as follows: the stipulated itinerary must be followed, in which well-known houses such as Xemei, from the Colombo brothers, collaborate; Nectari, by Jordi Esteve; Maleducat, by Víctor Ródenas or Tapas 24, by Carles Abellán. Those who complete the entire route, explain the organizers, will have the chance to win a round of Le Gruyère AOP and a culinary experience for two people valued at a maximum of 300 euros in one of the participating establishments.

To get these prizes, it is necessary to access the Instagram account Cheeses of Switzerland (@quesosdesuiza) and via direct message send photographs of the tasting map completed with stickers −this material will be provided in the restaurants− and of the tapas of the ten establishments that make up the itinerary.

Some of the snacks included in the activity are a cheese mochi, a risotto with chestnut gargolas, a cheese tartlet, ripe picaña and potato, and some cardinal macaroni. The price of each tapa ranges between 6 and 12 euros, and the recipes for these preparations can be consulted on the event website so that users can prepare them at home.

Le Gruyère AOP, which was proclaimed the best cheese in the world at the World Cheese Awards 2022, is an artisanal and natural product that is made with cow's milk and matured for six to nine months. The first references date back to 1115, although the place name does not appear until the 17th century. XVII. Its flavor is strong and has a pronounced aroma, with fruity nuances.
