A little more than two months after the virulent Campanar fire, in Valencia, more details are arriving about the reasons for it. This Friday it was learned that the fire, which originated in the refrigerator in house 86, as was published weeks ago, could have been caused by a refrigerant gas leak and encouraged by poor ventilation.
This is what Levante-EMV announced this Friday after having access to the scientific report that was expected in the Valencia court and that would finally arrive last Tuesday, April 30, according to this same publication.
According to the same publication, the Scientific Police have ruled out a short circuit. The same medium also explains that they are working with the hypothesis that "a small leak" in the channeling ducts of that refrigerant gas, isobutane, could ignite "at any spark" or due to the static electricity of the device, since it is very flammable.
The origin of the fire, in which 10 people lost their lives, is beginning to be clarified two months after the terrible event that shocked the city of Valencia on February 22. A decision has not yet been made regarding the completely burned-out property while there are owners waiting for its rehabilitation.
Meanwhile, those affected will be able to continue residing in the public housing building that the City Council offered them as soon as the event became known for another three months, since the council has granted an extension - approved last week by the local Government Board - so that the People affected by the Campanar fire continue to reside, if they wish, in the municipal housing in the Safranar neighborhood.
