Five people have been arrested, two of whom have already entered prison, when the National Police dismantled a criminal network that had a "huge" amount of child pornography files that were distributed through chat rooms and national and international forums.

The National Police has explained in a statement that the two people who are in jail are also charged with a crime of drug trafficking, by trying to distribute psychotropic substances and other medications to enhance sexual appetite.

The investigation began in 2021 as a result of a complaint in which a man told the agents that he had contacted a person through a contact application, who subsequently sent him several video files with high sexual content. in which minors appeared.

Given these facts, the Cybercrime agents of the Madrid Judicial Police took charge of the investigation, finding out that the user who sent those files was based in Alicante.

The agents of the Technological Crimes Group of the Alicante Provincial Police Station entered the house where the 33-year-old investigated resided, who ended up arrested and intervened his mobile phone, which contained abundant files of child pornography.

In addition, a large amount of speed (amphetamines), cocaine, methamphetamines, ecstasy pills, erectile dysfunction pills, liquid ecstasy or a large number of 'popper' bottles were seized.

The investigation continued and the police force managed to identify a second man, who was also arrested at his home, where they found, in addition to huge files of child pornography, a large quantity of psychoactive substances that he sold in nightlife venues and 14,600 euro in cash

Subsequently, the investigative work led to the identification and arrest of three others involved in the network, also accused of a crime of corruption of minors.

The five detainees, all of them male, were placed at the disposal of the judicial authority who ordered the immediate admission to prison for two of them.
