Firefighters try to control a forest fire declared this Friday afternoon in the Casella de Alzira area (Valencia), near the Murta Natural Area.
Up to eight aerial means are working to deal with the fire, which broke out around five this afternoon, and which affects a pine forest area, according to the Emergency Coordination Center of the Generalitat and the Provincial Fire Department Consortium.
In addition, situation 1 of the Special Plan to deal with forest fires (PEIF) has been established due to the proximity of homes.
At the moment, seven aerial means of the Generalitat and one of the Consortium of Firefighters are working in the area; four units of forest firefighters, two of them helicopter-borne; two fire trucks, and two Consortium crews, as well as a fire prevention unit and an environmental agent from the Generlaitat.
