One person is in critical condition and 14 others have been slightly injured in a spectacular accident involving a car and a bus in the center of Barcelona, specifically on Calle València, near Marina and Lepant .
As municipal sources have confirmed to La Vanguardia, officers from the Urban Guard, the fire department of the county city and the Medical Emergency System (SEM) have moved to the area to assist the affected people. Subsequently, the SEM has indicated that it has sent five ground units to the site.
According to some people who have witnessed the accident, the driver of the car involved has remained trapped inside the vehicle for several minutes until the firefighters have managed to free him. He has then been transferred in critical condition to the Hospital Santa Creu i Sant Pau.
Likewise, the Emergency services have treated another 14 people in the area of the accident, all with minor injuries. Three of them have been transferred to other health centers.
For its part, the Urban Guard of Barcelona has reported on Twitter that there are "traffic effects" on Valencia street, between Marina and Lepant streets -the place of the accident- and that it is making detours.
