València Local Police officers and municipal firefighters have rescued a child who this Sunday was trapped between the fingers of the giant Gulliver's right hand, in the park that bears his name in the old channel of the Túria, a very popular leisure area. familiar.
This past Sunday, around 8:45 p.m., the agents were alerted to the accident. The officers made two L-shaped cuts with various materials and a saber saw to weaken the area, since it was made of fiberglass. In addition, they created space with clamps and wedges until they were able to free the child, who was treated by the fire service ambulance and was in good condition.
The park was evacuated as a precaution, as reported by municipal sources and confirmed by the mayor of València, María José Catalá. That decision was made so that "firefighters and police could work with peace of mind, not for anything in particular."
Catalá has requested an analysis from the prevention service to find out if there are points of Gulliver that need a security improvement, although he has stressed that this park is safe as "almost all Valencians" who have spent part of their childhood there know.
"It is one of the most emblematic parks in the city. Obviously, very particular situations happen, but we cannot convey the feeling that it is unsafe: it has not been for us who are 42 years old and in great shape and nor for the children who go now ", he declared when asked by journalists about the rescue of the child.
