A 15-year-old boy dies in an accident with a stolen motorcycle in Badalona

Consternation in the Pomar neighborhood of Badalona upon learning of the death of a 15-year-old neighbor, whose family is well known in the neighborhood. The accident took place on Tuesday night for causes that are still being investigated with a stolen moped.

The mayor of Badalona, Xavier Garcia Albiol, declared through social networks that he is dismayed by the death of the boy, whom he claimed to know personally as it was a friend of his son, of the same age. "I am dismayed and shocked, life is so unfair." Albiol visited the family at the Funeral Home.

The accident occurred when the teenager was driving the stolen moped through the Bufalá neighborhood, with a colleague in the back of the vehicle. For reasons that are being investigated by the Badalona Urban Guard and the Mossos d'Esquadra, the vehicle violently impacted a fence and the driver took the brunt of it.

Alerted by witnesses, the Emergency services arrived at the scene to attend to the victim who, according to a first prognosis, received a strong impact on the abdomen, which could have affected a vital organ. While they were giving him first aid, the young man went into cardiorespiratory arrest. The toilets were able to revive him while they transferred him to the hospital. There, he underwent emergency surgery on his spleen and liver, but given the seriousness of his injuries, he did not make it through the operation and he died in the operating room.

On the other hand, the young man who was traveling as a passenger only suffered minor injuries and will be able to give a statement to the police. In the neighborhood of the deceased, friends and relatives of the victim have asked for respect for the family and have demanded that the media not venture hypotheses until the police conclude the ongoing investigation.
