2 people die from carbon monoxide poisoning in Tarragona

A 65-year-old woman and a 74-year-old man have died at their home in Camarles (Tarragona) as a result of poisoning due to carbon monoxide inhalation, and everything points to poor combustion of a butane gas heater.

Sources from the Mossos d'Esquadra and the Generalitat Fire Department have reported that the two deceased were found in bed this morning.

The investigation is still open but everything indicates that it is an accidental death due to carbon monoxide poisoning, which can be released by butane gas heaters when they do not produce combustion properly.

The deceased are a 65-year-old woman and a 74-year-old man, residents of Camarles, a small municipality near Tortosa (Tarragona). The Generalitat Firefighters have sent three crews to the scene of the incident.
