It is one of the most anticipated video game events of the year. This afternoon at 7:00 p.m. (peninsular time) Microsoft will hold its Xbox Games Showcase, a presentation that in the company's own words will include "news and updates on video games that will come to Xbox, PC and Cloud Gaming" and, therefore, to its popular Game Pass service.
The event, which is estimated to last 2 hours, will be divided into two parts: the Xbox Games Showcase itself, which will be dedicated to games from Xbox studios and other third-party companies, and the Starfield Direct, which will focus on the long awaited space game from Bethesda.
Both events can be followed live from the video that heads this news, but also through the official Xbox profiles on YouTube (in 4K and 60fps), Twitch and Facebook; and those of Bethesda on YouTube (in 4K and 60fps) and Twitch.
The Xbox Showcase will also be simulcast on regional Xbox and Bethesda channels around the world. The broadcast will be subtitled in more than 30 languages, including Spanish. Likewise, there will also be a version with audio descriptions in English and in sign language on this Xbox channel on Twitch.
Although E3 in Los Angeles, the most important video game fair in the sector, is not being held this year, this has not prevented a multitude of presentations from coinciding on the calendar in recent days, such as the PlayStation Showcase or the brand new Summer Game Fest.
The Microsoft video game division remains faithful to the tradition of offering a great conference coinciding with these dates. This year's is awaited with special interest, since it could serve for the American giant to finally show all the games that its numerous internal studios have been working on for years. Last year the Xbox brand suffered from a significant lack of exclusive titles, so there is considerable hope pinned on this presentation.
Among the most anticipated titles of this edition is Starfield, the new and ambitious science-fiction game from Bethesda, the creators of The Elder Scrolls and Fallout sagas, which is expected to go on sale on September 6.
The new installment of the Forza Motorsport driving simulator is another of the titles whose presence is assured. This time, yes, Microsoft is expected to specify its release date, since it should go on sale in the remainder of the year.
Another title that nothing has been known about for a long time is Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, the game that served as the Xbox Series's cover letter almost four years ago now. It is to be hoped that those responsible, the British study Ninja Theory, will show something else.
